Clarifications

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What constitutes ragging?

Any act that causes humiliation, teasing, physical abuse, mental torture, or forces a student to perform any act under pressure is considered ragging. Even casual "fun" that makes a fresher uncomfortable is prohibited.

Q2: Is my complaint kept confidential?

Absolutely. The identity of the complainant is never disclosed to the accused or the public. We also accept anonymous complaints.

Q3: What should I do if I see someone being ragged?

Immediately report to the Anti‑Ragging Cell or call the helpline. Do not ignore it – your intervention can prevent serious harm.

Q4: Are there any awareness programs for freshers?

Yes. During orientation week, we conduct dedicated sessions on anti‑ragging laws, penalties, and positive senior‑junior interaction. Freshers are also given a handbook with contact numbers.

Q5: What happens after I file a complaint?

The committee acknowledges receipt within 24 hours, initiates an inquiry, and completes it within 7–10 days. If the complaint is true, strict disciplinary action (including expulsion and legal proceedings) is taken against the offender.
